(I looked cute today. Just thought you should know.)
Upland's having a special election this month to fill a vacancy in the City Council. It's an all mail-in election, but citizens can bring their ballots to City Hall. I've been taking ballots and most of the time, people bring in their family's ballots, too. The problem? Unless you're bringing in your own ballot, I CANNOT take it without the authorization section filled out. It's not terribly hard--it needs your signature and their signature. We even have a little sign next to the City Clerk window telling them to be sure that's done. Some who "didn't see that part" or "can't see why that's necessary" (it's to prevent voter fraud, btw) get very offended, even when I tell them that postage isn't necessary, they could just drop the ballot in the mail if that's easier (mind you,the post office is within walking distance of City Hall). So a note to voters of all kinds--READ EVERYTHING AND MAKE SURE IT'S CORRECT before turning in your ballot. And if something is still wrong after that, don't take it out on the intern who's just trying to follow the law--call the county if their ballots are really that confusing.
I'm also very excited to own a pair of these now. That is all.
THOSE SHOES ARE FABULOUS!
