I have a love/hate relationship with March. First off, there's basketball. And lots of it. I love basketball most when I'm homesick, so now is the perfect time to watch it all day long at the Manwaring Center. Even though at Round 2, my bracket is ruined. All these gosh-darn upsets! At this point, it's just about enjoying the game.
Then there's the madness associated with the end of the semester. Trying to find a ride home, survive that last stretch of school, and work on all the last of those papers, projects and test preparations. Ugh.
Now is the madness of the Congressional simulation. Nonstop debate, technical silliness and formalities, and addressing important issues. All in business casual dress.I'm having a blast. Some bills ate practical, like requiring all homes to have a firearm (struck down on the floor) and repealing Obamacare (which we'll be addressing this afternoon. Others are silly, like legalizing duels or killing the penny. I've never had so much fun being reminded of why I don't want to follow a certain career.
Are deadbolt locks a required feature in a home? I wonder because one of the main arguments against Obamacare is whether the federal government can require and penalize commerce. And then someone suggests requiring a gun in every home?
ReplyDeleteHow can someone oppose one kind of forced commerce but then support another kind?
Tis a good thing I am not in your congressional theory class. My blood pressure would be through the roof.
