I started my internship last week. I'm back at City Hall! Now I'm in Human Resources, not the City Clerk's office. I do help out there now and again, though. And in Finance. And the City Manager's office. And at the front desk. But my first duty is to (and my unexpected paycheck comes from) HR. And that's just how I feel as I do traditional intern work. I'm not doing anything particularly exciting or special, just the little things like copies and organizing and
so much filing. As an intern, I've decided that it seems to be my job to make everyone else's job a little easier, and learn a little of how the municipal executives work. It's quiet and monotonous, but it pays and I'm learning. The early mornings are hard, but I chose to go in at 7 every morning to get the extra hours. Well, almost every morning. I'm going in late tomorrow* because I'm staying later. This means I can

finish the homework that's due while I'm working late.
Hopefully.
*If this blog is dated Wednesday, "tomorrow" means "today."
